For men

Why you are getting no replies, and what actually changes it

If you sent a hundred approaches and got two replies, the problem is almost certainly not you. It is the model, and it can be explained in numbers.

The arithmetic that explains everything

In most apps, sending a message costs nothing. When an action costs nothing, people do it a lot. So the receiving side gets dozens of approaches a day and learns to ignore most of them, simply because there is no other way to cope with the volume.

Then a spiral forms: you get no replies, so you send more and put less into each, which lowers the reply rate further, which makes you send even more.

That is not your failure and it is not a signal about the market. It is the direct result of one design decision: that approaching is free.

What works, and why it feels backwards

Ten considered approaches produce more conversations than a hundred generic ones. That sounds like tired advice until you look at the reason: an approach that refers to something specific in the profile proves you read it, and that is exactly what the other side is looking for while scanning twenty of them.

"Hey, how are you" could be sent to anybody, so it says nothing. A question about a place in a photo or something in the description says everything.

The second thing that works: a photograph where your face is clearly visible. Not a group shot, not sunglasses, not from a distance. If somebody has to look for you, you have already lost.

Why TOKME is different

An approach costs one credit, charged on sending and not refunded even if you are declined. That sounds like a disadvantage and it is actually the thing working in your favour: when everybody pays to approach, nobody sends a hundred, and your approach gets read.

The receiving side sees one request with one opening line, not a flooded inbox. Reply rates in that environment are far higher, and that is the whole difference.

And once a chat opens, you can move to a voice or video call with one tap without handing over a phone number. That is where it becomes clear whether there is anything here, and here it arrives much sooner.

Three practical changes

Ten instead of a hundred

Specific approaches to people you actually wanted.

A photo with your face in it

The second most common reason for no reply.

Move to a call early

Ten minutes of video is worth two weeks of texting.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I getting no matches at all?

Two causes explain most cases: a photograph that does not show your face clearly, and a profile that describes a generic person instead of a specific one. Both take twenty minutes to fix.

How many approaches should I send a day?

Few. Five written to a specific person beat fifty generic ones, in outcome and in cost where an approach costs something.

Why should I pay for an approach that was declined?

Because you pay for the approach and not the outcome, and that is exactly what stops everybody from sending a hundred. The benefit returns to you as a far higher reply rate on the ones you did send.

What do I write in an opening line?

Something you could not send to anybody else. A question about a place in a photo, a line in the description, an interest listed. Short, specific, and without a compliment about looks.

The app is almost here. Want to know when?

TOKME is in the final stages of store review. Leave an email address and you will be among the first to know on launch day, with a free credit pack for early sign-ups.

The address is used for the launch notice and nothing else. We will not pass it on, and you can leave the list at any time.
